Written, produced, directed and starring Ed Harris alongside Viggo Mortensen, Appaloosa is a Western based on the best selling novel of the same name by Robert B. Parker.
Appaloosa starring Ed Harris alongside Viggo Mortensen


Jeremy Irons plays a ruthless rancher who takes control of a lawless town during the 1880s. Harris and Mortensen are two friends who are hired to depose Irons and return law and order. Renée Zellweger plays the love interest who comes between the two friends.

Appaloosa will be released in the USA on October 3rd and you can view the trailer below:

Hunger

Directed by Steve McQueen and already winning awards at the Cannes and Sydney film festivals, Hunger tells the story of the final 6 weeks during the 1981 IRA hunger strike in the Maze prison. It focuses on Bobby Sands, his beliefs and what he is trying to achieve, finally ending with his death.



Hunger will be released in Australia on October 30th and in the UK on October 31st. View the trailer below:

Traitor

Traitor is a spy thriller staring Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce. Cheadle plays Samir Horn, a Sudanese-American special operative who goes undercover as an arms dealer to infiltrate a terrorist group. He is arrested and thrown into jail with them in Yemen where he befriends one of the terrorists names Omar. Omar's people bust him out of jail, and he takes Samir with him. Samir switches sides and joins Omar's group, where they bomb the US embassy in Paris and plan a spate of suicide bombings in the USA.
The CIA & FBI become aware or Samir's treachery and FBI agent Roy Clayton (Guy Pearce) pursues him across the globe until the two finally confront each other.


Traitor will be released in Australia on October 30th and in the USA on August 27th.

My Best Friend's Girl

My best friends girl poster


My Best Friend's Girl is a comedy film directed by Howard Deutch. It stars Jason Biggs as Dustin, who is dumped by his new girlfriend Alexis (Kate Hudson) after she finds him a little too smothering. Dustin recruits his best friend Tank (Dane Cook), who is a master at seducing and offending women, to take Alexis out on the worst date possible so she will go running back to her former beau. However being smart and headstrong Alexis calls his bluff and Tank starts to fall for this beautiful woman.
Tank now finds himself torn between his loyalty to his best mate, and love for his best friend's girl.
The film will be released in the USA on September 19th, 2008. The Australian release date is October 9th.

Nights in Rodanthe

Nights in Rodanthe, the best selling novel by Nicholas Sparks is now been made into a movie. It will star Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Interestingly it will be the third time these two have paired up in starring roles. The other two films being The Cotton Club (1984) and Unfaithful (2002).

In the film both Richard Gere and Diane Lane are facing troubled times in their lives. Not only in their professions, but family and relationships as well. They both find themselves retreating to the coastal town of Rodanthe in North Carolina for a weekend of respite. As a storm settles in over the town, the two turn to each other for comfort and the result is a magical weekend that changes their lives forever.

The film begins is 1919 with Button born as an 80 year old baby and concludes in the year 2000. Button's life starts off hard, as a 10 year old he has a 70 year old's body. Life slowly improves however, and when he's 50 (but looks 30), he falls in love with Cate Blanchett who also looks (and is) 30. Of course as time passes the relationship starts to face some complications

The result is a hilarious series of events which in the end turns all four of them into men
