Clerks 2
July 24th 2006 06:08
Clerks II is the 2006 sequel to Kevin Smith's 1994 movie Clerks, and his sixth feature film to be set in the View Askewniverse. The only characters from the original film are Dante, Randal, Jay, and Silent Bob. It is also the only true sequel in the View Askewniverse cycle, although the other films do maintain a form of continuity throughout. Clerks 2 sees the continuing tale of Dante and Randal, two slackers who find that life must change now that they are in their thirties, when it's time to grow up and do something more than just sit around, dissect pop culture and talk about sex. Clerks 2 will be released in Australia on 31/8/2006.
Below is a scene from the original "Clerks" which was the first of Kevin Smith's "View Askewniverse" films. It presented a day in the lives of two shop clerks and their acquaintances. The film is in black-and-white and roughly edited due to a very modest budget. Despite this it became a surprising success.

I'm like you I doubt the sequel will be as good, but at least it has all the usual characters in it.
