Brian Howard Clough, OBE (21 March 1935 – 20 September 2004) was an English footballer and subsequently football manager, most notable for his success with Derby County and Nottingham Forest. His achievement of winning back-to-back European Cups with a provincial side - Nottingham Forest - is considered to be one of the greatest in football history.
Charismatic, outspoken, and often controversial, Clough is widely considered to be one of the greatest managers of the English Game and the greatest English manager never to manage the England team.
In 1974 he manged Leeds United for 44 days. The Damned United is a dramatisation of his time there from surprising appointment to dramatic sacking. It stars Michael Sheen at Brian Clough and will be released in Australia on August 13th. See the trailer below:
