The Day the Earth Stood Still is a remake of the 1951 Science Fiction film about an alien who visits the Earth with his giant robot counterpart.
The Day the Earth Stood Still - Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves plays Klaatu, an alien messenger and Jennifer Connelly as Helen Benson who is a microbiologist brought in to investigate Klaatu.

Just how much the 2008 remake has in common witht he original remains to be seen.
It will be released in the USA on December 12th, 2008. The Australian release date is boxing day.
