Mr. Popper's Penguins

Mr. Popper's Penguins is a children's book written by Richard & Florence Atwater, originally published in 1938. It tells the story of a poor house painter named Mr. Popper and his family, who live in the small town of Stillwater in the 1930s. The Poppers unexpectedly come into possession of a penguin, then get a penguin from the zoo who mates with the first penguin to have 10 baby penguins. Before long, something must be done before they eat the Poppers out of house and home.

Mr. Popper's Penguins is an upcoming comedy film starring Jim Carrey, based on the children's book of the same name.

Jim Carrey is Mr. Popper, a driven businessman who is clueless when it comes to the important things in life—until he inherits six penguins. Popper's penguins turn his swank New York apartment into a snowy winter wonderland—and the rest of his life upside-down. Filmed on a refrigerated soundstage with real Gentoo Penguins, "Mr. Popper's Penguins" is a contemporary adaptation of the classic book.

Mr. Popper's Penguins will be released in the USA on June 17th, 2011. The Australian release date is June 30th. Here is the trailer:

Mars Needs Mums

Mars Needs Moms is a 3D computer-animated sci-fi film based on the book by Berkeley Breathed. It is set to be released on March 11, 2011 by Walt Disney Pictures and will be directed by Simon Wells. The film stars Seth Green and will be produced by Robert Zemeckis and his studio ImageMovers Digital. The Australian release date is April 7th.

The film will be the final project produced by ImageMovers Digital before its expected closure in 2011, and is being created using performance capture.

Mars Needs Mums


Take out the trash, eat your broccoli - who needs mums anyway? Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out just how much he needs his mum (Joan Cusack) when she's nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her "mum-ness" for their own young.

Milo's quest to save his mum involves stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate, multi-level planet and taking on the alien nation and their leader (Mindy Sterling). With the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebellious Martian girl called Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), Milo just might find his way back to his mum — in more ways than one.

Tangled

Tangled (previously known as Rapunzel) is an upcoming American 3D animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and starring the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. It will be the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, planned for release on November 24, 2010 in the USA and January 6th, 2011 in Australia. The story is loosely based on the classic German fairy tale Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm

Furry Vengeance is a family comedy film starring Brendan Fraser and Brooke Shields. It will be released in Australia on September 16th, 2010.

A real estate developer named Dan Sanders (Brendan Fraser) is given the task to develop a forest into a development by his boss Neal Lyman (Ken Jeong) much to the objections of Dan's son Tyler (Matt Prokop) and his wife Tammy (Brooke Shields). Unfortunately, the animals who live in the forest don't intend to take the loss of their home lying down, and instead decide to turn the tables on Dan. Tammy is planning an eco friendly fair and Lyman's company decides to sponsor it. The Sanders family later finds out that Lyman and his company are not eco friendly and want to cut down the forest to build houses.

Marmaduke will be a combined live-action/animation movie, in which the Winslows and their computer-generated dog move from Kansas to California. Owen Wilson will voice Marmaduke, with actors Judy Greer, William H. Macy, and Lee Pace playing humans, and Steve Coogan, Fergie, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Emma Stone, Damon Wayans and Marlon Wayans in voice roles.

Andy (John Morris) is heading off to college, and his toys, including Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen), are worried about their uncertain future. After some twists and turns, the toys are accidentally donated to Sunnyside Daycare Center. There, they befriend such toys, such as Lots-O'-Huggin' "Lotso" Bear (Ned Beatty), Mr. Pricklepants the Porcupine (Timothy Dalton), and a smooth-talking Ken doll (Michael Keaton). The toys are keen on starting a new life at the daycare. It isn't long before they discover that Andy is actively searching for them, so they decide to escape -- but to make things complicated, the toys soon discover that some of their new friends aren't as friendly as they thought. To make matters further complicated, Buzz is damaged during an escape attempt. The toys try to reset Buzz, only to make him revert to a delusional Spanish version of his old self, much to the other toys' discomfort and Jessie's amazement. The toys try to get Woody home in time before Andy leaves

Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang is the sequel to the 2005 film Nanny McPhee. It was adapted by Emma Thompson from Christianna Brand's Nurse Matilda books. Thompson reprises her role as Nanny McPhee, and the film also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ralph Fiennes, Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith, Asa Butterfield and Katy Brand.
