G-Force is a 2009 action comedy film to be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer for Walt Disney Pictures in Disney Digital 3-D. Written by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, the film will be directorial debut of Hoyt Yeatman, whose earlier work includes in the area of visual effects. Yeatman has previously worked with Bruckheimer on a number of films, including The Rock, Armageddon, and Kangaroo Jack.
This is the first live-action Disney movie to be produced in Disney Digital 3-D.
This is also Jerry Bruckheimer's first 3-D film.
The film revolves around a team of trained secret agent animals: guinea pigs Darwin (Sam Rockwell), Juarez (Penélope Cruz), Blaster (Tracy Morgan), mole Speckles (Nicolas Cage), and fly Mooch (Edwin Louis). The team takes on a mission for the US government to stop evil billionaire Leonard Saber, who plans to destroy the world with household appliances. Before they can accomplish their mission, the government shuts them down and they are sentenced to a pet shop. Darwin, Juarez, Blaster, Speckles, Mooch, and their new friends Hurley (Jon Favreau) and hamster Bucky (Steve Buscemi) will escape the cage to defeat the villain, stop his threat, and save the world.
G-Force will be released in the USA on July 24th, 2009. In Australia it will be released on September 17th. The trailer is below.
