They respond to a routine 911 call to an apartment building, where they discover other emergency crews have already arrived and find blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartments where a woman has been infected with something unknown.
The news crew follow fire-fighters into the building, but while inside the CDC quarantine the entire area and cut off all internet and phone access leaving them locked inside with no means to communicate with the outside world.

Friday the 13th Remake

January 30th 2008 12:27
In January 2007, producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller outlined their intended goal to bring the remake to life. Fuller and Form were approached by New Line to create a remake, but because Paramount still owned certain copyrights to the first film the remake would not be able to use anything from the original film. Paramount, who wanted to be included in the remake, approached the producers and gave them license to use anything from the original films, including the title. With Paramount on board, Fuller and Form decided they wanted to use pieces from each of the first three films. Fuller stated, "I think there are moments we want to address, like how does the hockey mask happen. It’ll happen differently in our movie than in the third one. Where is Jason from, why do these killings happen, and what is Crystal Lake?" The producers expressed an interest in using the character of Tommy Jarvis, and stated that they were currently trying to figure out an origin story for Jason that would make sense.

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, writers of Freddy vs. Jason, were announced in October 2007 to have been hired to pen a script for the remake. The film was reported to focus on Jason Voorhees, and that he will keep his trademark hockey-mask. The film is being produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller through Bay's production company Platinum Dunes, for New Line Cinema. Director Jonathan Liebesman was originally in negotiations to direct the remake in February 2006, but in November 2007, Marcus Nispel, director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake of 2003, replaced Liebesman in negotiations to direct.

The premise of the film is as you would expect: Looking to reopen a camp for special need kids a group of councillors encounter a snag in their plans when an unknown person begins to pick them off one by one.

It will be released on February 12th, 2009 in Australia and February 13th, 2009 in the USA. (Yes February 13th, 2009 is a Friday!)

The Covenant Preview

September 26th 2006 07:03
In 1692, in the Ipswich Colony of Massachusetts, five families with untold power formed a covenant of silence. One family, lusting for more, was banished; their bloodline disappearing without a trace--until now. This thriller tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spencer Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600's, the boys have all been born with special powers. When the body of a dead student is discovered after a party, secrets begin to unravel which threaten to break the covenant of silence that has protected their families for hundreds of years.

The "Sons of Ipswitch" have inherited their powers through their respective family bloodlines. These powers allow the young men to do literally whatever they want. The powers, however, are addictive; if the men use them excessively, they will become greatly weakened and aged. Too much abuse of power could even be fatal to the young men. There were five family bloodlines, and a "Fifth Son of Ipswich" surfaces to destroy the other four and steal their powers for himself
