A Nightmare on Elm Street is a remake of Wes Craven's 1984 slasher film of the same name and designed to reboot the franchise. The film stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, a role made famous by Robert Englund, while Rooney Mara takes over the role of Nancy Thompson,[4] originally portrayed by Heather Langenkamp. The remake is set to release on April 30, 2010. The remake was directed by Samuel Bayer with Michael Bay as producer. The Australian release date is May 20th.

The Wolfman

Inspired by the classic Universal Pictures film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman reclaims the myth of a man whose curse transforms him into something less human. Lawrence Talbot, a carefree Londoner, is lured back to his family estate after the disappearance of his brother. Reunited in crisis with his estranged father, Talbot sets out to find his brother...but discovers an even more horrifying destiny for himself.

Zombieland

The horror comedy Zombieland stars Woody Harrelson and focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss -- but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying' bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

Saw VI

Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

Kevin Greutert, the editor of all previous films in the franchise, will be the director for the sixth installment, with David Armstrong returning as the cinematographer. Mark Burg and Oren Koules are returning as producers of the film with James Wan and Leigh Whannell, creators of the series, returning as executive producers. Charlie Clouser is also returning to compose the score for the film.

It will be released in the USA on October 23rd, 2009. The Australian release date is October 22nd. See the trailer below:

The Final Destination

The Final Destination (known within the franchise as Final Destination 4) is an upcoming 3-D supernatural thriller/horror film written by Eric Bress and directed by David R. Ellis, both of whom also worked on Final Destination 2. It is the first of which to be shot in HD 3-D.

On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon (Bobby Campo) has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori (Shantel VanSanten), and their friends, Janet (Haley Webb) and Hunt (Nick Zano), to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one — in increasingly gruesome ways — Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination.
The Final Destination will be released in the USA on September 11th. The Australian release date is October 15th, 2009. The trailer can be seen below:

My Bloody Valentine 3D

My Bloody Valentine was originally released in 1981 as a low budget Canadian slasher film. Released not long after other popular films of the same genre such as Halloween and Friday the 13th, it developed a cult following.

Released in 1980 Friday the 13th was the first film in perhaps the most famous horror film franchise of all time. With Jason Voorhees and his hockey mask becoming part of popular folklore the world over. Friday the 13th (2009) will be the first film in the series since Freddy vs. Jason. in 2003.
