Slumdog Millionaire is directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) and written by Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty). It tells the story of an illiterate Indian streetkid from Mumbai named Jamal who appears on the Hindi version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? not to win prize money, but to prove his love for friend Latika who watches the show every week.

Jamal stuns everyone when he goes on to win the big prize, after which he's suspected of cheating. Will he be able to keep the money? But more importantly, will he get the girl?

Slumdog Millionaire will be released in Australia on Boxing Day. The US release date s November 12th, 2008 and January 23rd in the UK.
