The Spirit is the film adaptation of the newspaper strip of the same name. It stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes.
The movie tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows. Samuel L. Jackson plays his nemesis the Octopus, a ruthless killer taking out the citizens of Central City one by one. As the hero battles the Octopus, he crosses paths with a plethora of women who try to seduce him, kill him, or both.
