Surrogates is a Science Fiction film starring Bruce Wills as a police officer in the year 2017. In this futuristic world, humans remain in the safety of their own homes and instead conduct their daily lives through surrogate robots. Surrogates look just like their hosts and when connected to a surrogate, humans will see and feel everything they do. However if a surrogate is involved in an accident, the human will remain unharmed.
Agent Greer (Bruce Willis) is a cop whose surrogate cannot feel pain and withstands bullets and car accidents with ease. Greer is assigned to look into the surrogate murders, but during the course of the investigation his own surrogate is destroyed. This forces Greer to bring his human form into the outside world for the first time in many years to continue the search. Now he must not only deal with being vulnerable and feeling pain again, but he uncovers a conspiracy that runs deeper than he ever imagined, and may have dire consequences for anyone connected to a surrogate...
Surrogates will be released in the USA on September 25th, 2009. The Australian release date is October 8th. See the trailer below:
